We are a small, grassroots organization. Individual contributions are the backbone of the financial support of our programs.
- $5 will pay for mailing books to 3 children of an incarcerated parent
- $10 can purchase a book for a preschooler and two siblings
- $25 buys 8 months of books for a child in our Read to Kids program
- $50 buys 10 Read to Baby packets with a baby book for new moms in our Mother and Baby program
- $100 purchases 2 digital voice recorders for our SICT program for incarcerated parents and their children
Children’s Literacy Network takes pride in making available quality age-appropriate books for children who have limited access to reading material. We are grateful for any donation of new books. We favor multicultural and award-winning titles found on our Wish List below. These books depict positive themes and promote healthy development and self-esteem in children. Best of all, they are popular with our audience!
Businesses, civic organizations, schools, places of worship, book clubs — any volunteer group interested in collecting books and donations for Children’s Literacy Network programs — can hold a book drive. Kids can even have a book drive for birthday parties!
It’s a fun and rewarding way to promote reading in our community!

Staying In Closer Touch often needs more volunteers to work with incarcerated parents, burn CD’s, package and/or mail books and CD’s to the children.
Mothers and Babies often needs people to help prepare packets with information on the value of reading.
Summer Book Program needs volunteers to help children pick out books to keep at the Mitchell Elementary end of the year book giveaway and during neighborhood visits with our bookmobile throughout the summer.
Partners and Supporters
Since its inception, our organization has relied on collaboration with a wide variety of partnering organizations to deliver our programs. We welcome partnerships with any organization that shares our mission to give all children in our county an equal opportunity to develop a love of reading and books.
Children’s Literacy Network couldn’t do what we do without the generous support of a variety of organizations.
